A blog post from Carousel Designs’ marketing director, Leah Sicat
40 expecting moms, 44 unborn babies (including a couple sets of twins!) and a few newborns who arrived early … all were on the guest list for Operation Shower’s latest event, “Red, White and Coo,” held at historic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. Each of the attending moms is a military family member. Each of them is enduring deployments and separation from their spouses at a difficult time. Each of them is making sacrifices that most Americans can only imagine.
So what better to do to show our appreciation for these women and their families than to provide them with amazing gifts at the baby shower of their dreams?! Operation Shower has made this their mission since 2007 – to celebrate and honor military families by providing joyful baby showers to ease the burden of deployment.
Operation Shower’s mission and purpose is very near and dear to the hearts of those of us at Carousel Designs. We are a military family ourselves – our leaders are West Point grads and former Army officers who have many family members still serving. Read more about the military background of Carousel Designs’ owners and our commitment to supporting military families in our previous blog post.
We were so pleased to be able to sponsor “Red, White and Coo” on September 21, 2011, in Atlanta. The event was hosted in conjunction with Birdies for the Brave, the PGA TOUR’s military support organization, and the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola, which provided the phenomenal venue, right on the 16th green!
Check out a few of our favorite photos from the event, and a few media stories summarizing what happened on this most amazing day.

Carousel Designs has supported Operation Shower’s recent events at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; Groton, Connecticut and Norfolk, Virginia, and we will continue our support with the upcoming baby shower at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. We couldn’t be prouder to support an organization that has provided so much joy for military families. We look forward to continuing our wonderful relationship with Operation Shower and partnering to honor many more military families in the future!
