‘Drape’ Your Nursery in Luxury

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

Ooh la la!  There’s nothing like a pair of gorgeous drape panels to complete the look of your nursery.

For years, I went without drapes thinking I didn’t need them, but once I put them in, it was love at first sight! Drapes can provide a dressy feel, but they don’t always have to be fancy.

Let’s say that you want to create a sweet nursery for your precious baby boy. You want a finished, masculine look, but you don’t want it to look like your grandfather’s home office. Well, you’ll love the drape panels that we paired with the Coastal bedding collection.

Coastal Collection

The rich Solid Navy fabric paired with the fun Patchwork Plaid trim and playful Ice Blue tie-tops are perfect for a baby boy’s nursery. The drapes are fun but macho enough that even daddy will like them.

Well, what if you like fancy drapes and want to find the perfect panels for your little girl’s nursery? You’ll develop a crush on the Royal Ballet drapes. They’re romantic and lovely but not too serious.

Royal Ballet Collection

The pretty ballerinas seem to dance around the sunlight in their little tutus. These drapes are trimmed with Pink Silk and this same silky fabric is used for the tie-tops. So cute!

Carousel Designs has an extensive selection of drape panels. You can select the length that fits for you. Choose from 64”, 84”, and 96” for the length, and 25.5” or 42” for the width. Do you want blackout liner? Carousel Designs offers the option of blackout liner for all of their drape panels.

While you’re browsing for the baby’s room, you may find drapes that would look perfect in your bedroom. Are your windows higher than 96”? We can help! Carousel Designs offers customization for the length of your drape panels for a custom fee. In fact, if you see a fabric that we carry that you would love on your windows, please call our customer service team. We will be happy to customize the drapes of your dreams.

Have you decorated your nursery with Carousel Designs drapes? Please let us know! We would love to see what you’ve created.

A Branch on the Family Tree

Monday, June 25th, 2012

Now that you’re pregnant, have you been thinking about family heritage? Your little one will add another branch on the family tree. It can be very interesting to see how you became you based on where you’re grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents came from.

Nowadays, you can obtain your family history from websites like Ancestry.com. You provide information including your mother and father’s names, their mother and father’s name, and places of birth. Some of us may only have bits of that information, but there is a good chance that you can still locate your family history based on that bit.

If Ancestry.com thinks it found some information for you, it will provide a hint for you to review. Over time, you can accumulate knowledge of your heritage. You can contribute information to assist family members you’re connected to and haven’t met yet.

Besides my parents’ information, the only other tidbits of information about my family history were my grandparent’s names and birth years, and from that small morsel of information, I received two hints!

Learning your heritage can be inspirational and surprising. You could share the stories about your heritage as your baby grows. What a beautiful gift to give to your tiny new sprout.
